Admission to the Skegness Junior Academy

The Skegness Junior Academy provides for the needs of children within the 7 to 11 age range who live in Skegness and the surrounding areas.

Pupils will be admitted at the age of 7+ without reference to ability or aptitude using the criteria set out in this policy. Admission to our Academy is not dependent on any ‘voluntary’ contribution.

Links with the Skegness Infant Academy

If a child attends the Skegness Infant Academy, it is usually a straight forward transfer to the Skegness Junior Academy for Year 3 however an application for a place must be made in the usual way.

Admission Numbers

  • 90 for pupils in Year 3

For admission to Year 3 in September, parents should apply using the Lincolnshire County Council’s Admission process. Applications forms must be completed and returned direct to the County Council by  15 January.

Appeals

There is right of appeal to an Independent Appeals Panel for unsuccessful applicants relating to admissions at age 5 (statutory school age) or above. Appeals should be made to the Academy, in writing, within twenty (20) school days of the date of refusal.

SCHOOL ADMISSION - APPEALS

Primary schools - National Offer Day 16 April 2024, Deadline for an appeal to be received - Midnight 14 May 2024.

Secondary schools – National Offer Day 1 March 2024, Deadline for an appeal to be received – Noon 15th April 2024

Following national offer day, parents will be able to log all block appeals via the appeal form on the LCC website.
